RECTOR'S NEWS

On Sunday August 1st we returned to the church for Sunday Mass, after 3 weeks of major work on the church floor and pews. The High Mass that day was a joyful celebration, with the Bishop of Northern Indiana, the Rt Revd Edward Little, as celebrant & preacher. One of the obvious differences is the sound in the church. At High Mass the quartet sang Vaugham Williams', O How Amiable are They Dwellings, a most appropriate and beautiful anthem. The organ and singing lifted the roof, & it seemed like 300 people said the Angelus! Bishop Little preached an inspiring sermon, that can best be summarised as: You need more Jesus! It was a wonderful occasion.
